2D Mapping
While photogrammetry can create realistic 3D models, they are generated by the process of stitching hi-resolution images together to build the model. Our LiDAR inspections service takes that to the next level by collecting precise data points from the LiDAR system and combining the two models for unparalleled fidelity. This increased level of detail allows teams to closely inspect areas of interest, take accurate measurements to monitor any changing conditions in structures, and generate remediation scenarios based on hard data.
2D Mapping or orthomosaics are a collection, or mosaic, of high-resolution images that are captured then stitched into a single image of a site. Each image in the mosaic is orthorectified to account for the curvature of the earth and lens distortion. This process produces a photo called a GeoTIFF which allows for latitude and longitude coordinates to be identified and measured.
